Celer is the Ambient Project, founded in 2005 by Tokyo-based, North American musician, Will Long. Alongside his work as photographer, musician and author, he runs the label Two Acrons. Over eighty publications by Celer have appeared in North America, Europe and Asia. Will Long works, among others, together with Miko (under the name Oh, Yoko), Hakobune, Mathieu Ruhlmann, Nicholas Szczepanik, Yui Onodera, Corey Fuller and Tomoyoshi Date.

Christoph Heemann (*1964 in Aachen) began his musical work in 1983 as founding member of the group “Hirsche Nicht Aufs Sofa (H.N.A.S.)” which published diverse albums of their surreal collage music between 1985 and 1993, and was inspired by various influences in Musique Concrète, Avantgarde, Krautrock and improvised music. After H.N.A.S. disbanded, Heemann pursued his musical work both as solo artist as well as his collaboration with Edward Ka-Spel from the “Legendary Pink Dots”, and Jim O'Rourke in the “Gruppe Mimir”. In addition, he worked with Andrew Chalk in the drone project “Mirror” and with Timo van Luyk in “In Camera”. Heemann’s solo compositions were often described as “films for the ear”, in which he combined field recordings, acoustic instruments, electronics and electronic sounds in audio narratives. In addition to collaborative projects with Jim O'Rourke, Lee Ranaldo, Charlemagne Palestine, William Basinski and productions for Keiji Haino, Charlemagne Palestine, Limpe Fuchs and Current 93, he has been running the label Streamline since 1994. Heerman’s 2010 scoring of the narrative "Die Ringe des Saturn" by W.G. Sebald won considerable attention.

“Hollywood Dream Trip” is a new project by Will Long and Christoph Heemann, whose first LP will appear in 2013 by Streamline.
 

Information on the concert series

With the series “IMA_experiments” a forum is created for international musicians of contemporary, electronic music. Artists from the non-academic scene are presented who usually do not have access to the large electronic studios, or are unaware of production possibilities such as those at the ZKM | Institute of Music and Acoustics (IMA). With these concerts, the IMA draws important external impulses and also positions itself on the map as a venue for contemporary electronic music. At the same time, he makes his activities and possibilities known not only in the circle of artist and actors, but among a broader public, as well.
