Following the launch event »ARS ACUSTICA« in March 2014, the ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics in cooperation with the Elektronmusikstudion EMS/Statens Musikverk Stockholm has organized the festival »The Swedish Scene«. The event provides an overview of current production in the field of experimental electronic music in Sweden ranging from radiophones, electroacoustic sounds through to Noise.
The prelude to the event is in the form of a symposium in which the history of the EMS, as well its work will be presented. This will be followed by a presentation of works by Swedish artists: whereas, during the first day of the festival, the musical focus will be placed on experimental live electronics ranging from Noise and Ambient, on the second day electroacoustic works, among others, by Jens Hedman and Åke Parmerud are to be presented.
