Call for Participation

inSonic2017: Immersive Future calls for academic and non academic works and contributions.

We invite submission in the following categories:

  • Papers and Posters
  • Compositions and Performances
  • Installations
  • Workshops and Tutorials/Demonstrations

 

Call for Papers and Posters

Written contributions could focus on aesthetic and media aspects of:

  • sounding objects in space
  • motion and gesture in space
  • immersive display & projection technologies
  • application of AR/VR
  • application of novel spatialisation techniques for composition, music and improvisation
  • interaction and control of sound and media in space
  • developments in space simulating techniques such as wave field synthesis (WFS), vector or distance based amplitude panning (VbAP/DbAP), high order ambisonics (HOA) and combined systems
  • unconventional speaker setups and diffusion techniques

The conference language is English.

 

Call for Compositions and Performances

Music contributions should have a focus on:

  • multichannel compositions
  • spatialisation techniques for spherical speaker setup (Sound Dome: ~43 speakers)
  • music for a fixed installation setup (The Morning Line)

Selected works and composers will be invited for aural presentation or round table discussion, please indicate during submission your interest in aural presentation of your work.

 

Call for Installations

  • installations for multichannel setups for audio and/or video

Deadlines

Deadline for compositions, performances, installations, workshops/demonstrations:

  • 31 July 2017: submission deadline, 
  • 25 August 2017: notification of acceptance

  • 31 July 2017: submission deadline (abstracts must not exceed 200 words)
  • 25 August 2017:     notification of acceptance
