/////// Simon Ingram presents his latest »Radio Painting Station« installation, entitled »Looking for the Waterhole«

In the framework of the »Open Codes« exhibition, New Zealand artist Simon Ingram's latest installation – »Looking for the Waterhole« – will be on view at ZKM_Subraum from December 15, 2017 until January 14, 2018.

A radio telescope concentrates, filters, amplifies and digitizes spectral emissions for a mechatronic system to codify as a series of paintings in a durational format. The chosen concentric mode of visualization has an onomatopoeic relationship with its atomic referent, and allows, through comparison, a language of difference to emerge – we cordially invite you to have a look at the painting process!

/////// Lecture: Digitalization. A Christmas Fairytale 2017

The keywords of »Digitalization« are everywhere in 2017. The focus is always on higher quantities of data and faster networks, and less on people.

Will we manage to put human beings at the center of the digital world? In this lecture, Prof. Dr. Peter A. Henning from the Institute for Computers in Education makes the attempt to answer these questions in a – somewhat – fairy-tale narrative on Friday, December 22, 2017
