- Gudrun Mahlmann-Piper studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and the Hochschule für bildende Künste Berlin (1937–1943) after she moved to Germany in 1927. 1944 moved to Bavaria, where she studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München, Munich (1946–1948). She lives in Wedel, DE.
