Hanns Holger Rutz is a sound artist, composer, performer, researcher, and software developer in electronic music. In his creations, the development of and research into software and algorithms play an important role. His work, which mainly consists of sound and intermedia installations, live improvisations, and electroacoustic compositions, has been exhibited, performed, and recognized internationally.
Focusing on computer-based composition, his research proposes to inject the manifest traces of this process as material into the compositions themselves. He currently lives in Graz and works at the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM).
