Studied composition under Y. Irino. Studied composition at the Musikhochschule in Berlin and Hamburg, under I. Yun and G. Ligeti. Guest composer at Stanford Genevaity, USA in 1991. Active at the Center for Art and Media Technology (ZKM⎥Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie in Karlsruhe, Germany and the Music Media Lab in Hamburg.
Numerous awards and scholarships (including the »Ensemblia« in Mönchengladbach (1983), the PRISMA Prize, Hamburg (1990), Siemens Project Scholarship (1992/1993). North German Radio (NDR) Music Prize (1994)).[2000]
