Ringo Rösener

Biography

Ringo Rösener (born 1983) is currently PhD student at the Albert-Ludwigs University Freiburg and will submit his dissertation »Friendship as a love for the world. At the movies with Hannah Arendt« in spring 2016. He received a scholarship of the DFG-graduate school 1288 »Friends, Patrons, Clients« at Albert-Ludwigs University Freiburg from 2013 - 2015. From 2009 - 2013 he worked for the Hoferichter & Jacobs TV-Production GmbH. In these years he worked (as author and director) together with Markus Stein on the feature documentary »Among Men – Gay in East Germany« (ARD/MDR, Hoferichter & Jacobs GmbH, Salzgeber & Co. Medien GmbH). The film was presented for the first time at the International Berlin Film Festival 2012. In 2010 he received a working scholarship of the »Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen« to write the script of the film. In 2009 he graduated in cultural science, theater science and economics at the Leipzig University (Magister Artium).

His academic interests are: Hannah Arendt, Michel Foucault, Ernst Cassirer, Georg Simmel, Immanuel Kant, the relations of (cultural) philosophy, political theory and film. Regarding the Germany film industry he further works on marketing concepts for feature documentaries.
