Composer Reinhold Weber, born in Gießen, is one of the greats in the musical life of the German southwest. On the occasion of his eightieth birthday, ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics presents a selection of his electronic works, among them "Musica mundana" and "Elektronische Sinfonie." For a good thirty artistically fulfilled years, Reinhold Weber, born in 1927, taught electronic composition at the Badisches Konservatorium Karlsruhe and produced numerous works at the University of Karlsruhe’s electronic music studio. At the broadcasting institutes of the ARD, his work is regularly presented to a public on the appropriate stations for new music. The program will be combined with works by the Czech composer Miroslav Hlaváč (*1923).
