This workshop gives an introduction to wave field synthesis (WFS) processing for music performance and sound installation art. It explains the basic theory of sound field reproduction and describes the concepts for different spatial audio effects (e.g., focussed sound sources and sound source directivity rendering).

Listening session: Sound examples will be given on 128-loudspeaker array using IRCAM Spat (Max/Msp) and WFS Collider (SuperCollider).
