rosalie: Marathon der Tiere
A greyhound projected on a screen
Mon, January 25, 2016 – Sun, April 10, 2016
As soon as the dawn begins, visualisations of animals appear in a spectrum from real images to complex animations and projections of technical/scientific data material on the graduation tower. rosalie uses the large screen as memory space for the motion coordinates of dogs, monkeys, chameleons, cats, iguanas, tortoises, elephant shrews, rats, frogs and birds. Inspired by scientific investigation of the animal kingdom, rosalie generates continuing image sequences between dynamics, rhythm and silence as a video projection.

For her photographic projection, rosalie interwove x-ray video images from the realm of research into a poetic choreography of animal portraits. The artificial radiographs show multifarious motion sequences and various gaits of animals at different speeds, in extreme slow motion, in differentiated formats and in complex formations.

To the composition »Spin Loop«, the projected images coalesce into a frieze in which the motion sequences of the animals become visible with almost magical elegance, expressing the beauty of the animals and their diversity of species, which may soon be lost.
