Take a look behind the scenes of science with our expert Julia Iser from the University of Tübingen!

Are you also working in your home office because of the Corona pandemic? Even if you don't: Many of us are familiar with the situation where you take a »quick« look at your work emails or quickly finish a presentation at the end of the day or at the weekend. Due to the increasing spread of mobile devices in the working world, these activities are becoming easier and easier to perform outside of actual working hours. But we also have access to professional content on our private smartphones or laptops. What does this actually mean for our well-being? Is it bad for us and our work-life balance if we still work in our free time? Or can the additional flexibility we gain from using digital technologies also have a positive effect on us?

Our guest: Julia Iser studied psychology at Saarland University and has been a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Department of Work and Organizational Psychology at Mannheim University since 2020. Together with Prof. Dr. Sabine Sonnentag, she is investigating within the framework of digilog@bw how working people use digital technologies for professional purposes in their free time and how employees shape boundaries between work and private life in the process.

Moderation: Sabine Faller is a research associate in the department of museum communication at ZKM | Karlsruhe. Her focus is on the conception and implementation of workshops, projects and educational programs in the fields of media art, digital education as well as online learning - currently for the research project »Digitalization in Dialog – digilog@bw«.

Be there live, meet our scientists and share your thoughts and ideas directly in the chat. Get practical tips and exciting knowledge about digitalization!

The event is held in German.
