Sound as a medium of art is the starting point of this media art work by Peter Weibel. The interactive sound installation Klangkanal [Sound channel] invites you to interact with the work through sound, for example, by clapping hands or stamping the feet. The work consists of LEDs, a screen, and microphones, and creates an aesthetic interaction that is generated by the movements and participation of people in front of the shop window. Depending on the volume of noise that you create, the sounds are visualized on the screen via an equalizer. After its presentation in the exhibitions Sound Art 2019 and respektive Peter Weibel 2019 at the ZKM | Karlsruhe, the installation now brings the visual experience of sound into the public realm.

Part of the collection of the ZKM.
