In the first part, the multiple award-winning KIT Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Dieter Köhnlein is scheduled to present selected pieces from his rich repertoire. In the second part of the concert, the maestro Köhnlein hands over the baton to North American musician, conductor and composer David Amram, who the Washington Post once referred to as “one of the most versatile and skilled musicians America has ever produced”, and who was first composer-in-residence under Leonard Bernstein. The performance includes the first movement from Schubert’s unfinished classic symphony, and works by David Amram himself, which includes a European premiere.
