Petter Bergander grew up in the small Swedish town Flen south of Stockholm. There he played his first gig at age 10 during an auction sponsored by the local church congregation. Born in 1973, he belongs to the generation of Swedish musicians who had early access to instruments and practice rooms through the open music schools called ‘Kommunala Musikskolan’ which were established by the local government. As he was invited to take part in weekly lunchtime jams by a teacher, Petter discovered the love of his life: jazz!
