Henk van Os

Henk van Os held a professorship in Art and Cultural History at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen from 1974. Between 1989 and 1996 he was General Director of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. Since December 1996 he is working as University Professor appointed to a chair in Art and Society at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. Throughout the years of academic exchange with foreign universities, he served as a guest lecturer in Europe as well as in the United States. Van Os is also well-known as presenter for »Museumschatten and Beeldenstorm«, a TV programme on objects in (Dutch) public collections of art.
