Biography
The Electronic Music Studio at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln is an important center for the creation and study of electronic music in Cologne, Germany. The studio was founded in 1965 by Herbert Eimert, a pioneer in the field, and combines a rich musical tradition with innovative technology. Since its establishment, it has served as a hub for experimental projects and has been an integral part of the Bachelor and Master programs in electronic composition. The studio’s equipment includes analog and modular synthesizers, advanced digital software, and professional recording systems, enabling real-time creation, multimedia integration, and live concert productions. It provides students with the tools to develop original projects, learn modern composition techniques, and explore new sonic possibilities. The program is taught by leading professionals in the field, led by Professor Michael Beil, The studio also hosts concerts, live performances, and interdisciplinary collaborations, giving students practical experience and audience exposure.
