The Linux operating system has been used increasingly in the server and office areas for years now, and has gradually matured in the audio area to become a serious platform. ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics supports this software development in the globally active and networked independent scene. For the fourth time now, the »International Linux Audio Conference« will take place at ZKM, offering Linux and open-source-audio software developers and users a forum to exchange information, discuss projects, and present music. Renowned software developers from around the world will report on their projects in the context of the conference.
 

The LAC2006 – Concert program

The musical program on 27 and 29 April will impressively demonstrate how open-source applications, as a platform for composers, can help inspire musical fantasies and realize artistic ideas.
