Experimenta+ (Opening)
Thu, November 13, 2008 4 pm CET, Opening
In the exploratorium Kindermuseum Stuttgart e.V. and the School Laboratory for Mathematics in the Department of Mathematical Didactics of the University of Karlsruhe (TH), the three partners cooperation designed Experimenta+ – an exhibition combining the phases of natural scientific experimentation from the fields of physics and mathematics with media art at the Academy of Design Karlsruhe (HfG). Based on the touring exhibition Experimenta – Physics for the Senses the physical phases of experimentation are extended by a plus: mathematical and media artistic exhibits are added to the space of knowledge and experience by the School Laboratory for Mathematics at the University of Karlsruhe, and by student projects at the HfG: how to build a bridge without glue and nails, whether or not a dice can role, how far one can see to infinity with the aid of a mirror, why shadows remain on a wall and what constitutes a perfect square – the answer to these and other questions are provided by the numerous experimental phases Experimenta+.
