The three most significant German action artists of post-war modernity, Joseph Beuys, Bazon Brock and Wolf Vostell, are presented together for the first time ever in a largescale show. The artists, all of whom were friends, appeared together at important actions and exhibitions during the 1960s. They began forming their stylistic approaches that drew on the war experience, the holocaust and totalitarian systems.

The mutual goal was the radical emancipation of the individual and the reform, or revolution of life. In showing the three different positions of performativity together, a new perspective has been elaborated on performative arts as these have been paid court to by museums throughout the world.
