In 2013, Performance artist Marinka Limat set out on an art pilgrimage. It was a hike of 1100 km, 65 days from Fribourg in Switzerland to Berlin. On her way, she spoke to people in museums, art institutions and artist studios. She recorded her experiences in drawings, images and sound. What she compiled in this way is nothing short of a »state of the art 2013« in public. She has now recorded everything in a documentary film. This can be seen on 18 January 2017 at 7 pm. There will be a podium discussion with the artist following this screening.
»Kunstpilgerreise I« [Art Pilgrimage I] is a documentary film lasting 58 minutes. It shows Limat’s path between two countries and illustrates how art is handled, how it is experienced in different places by different experts and art lovers. The film records and includes diverse opinions of art outsiders in general, as well as her own personal thoughts on her own pilgrimage. »Dear wanderer,« are the words of one of the people who blessed her, for example, »I would like to take the opportunity to bless you on your journey from art venue to art venue. Because you clearly belong to a generation of young artists interested in meeting and establishing contacts. You confront what was previously foreign to you and familiarise yourself in this way...«
