The ZKM I Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe is a unique cultural institution worldwide and stands for an open concept of art at the interface of art, science and technology. Every year, our exhibitions and events are visited by 250,000 people from Karlsruhe, the state of Baden-Württemberg as well as nationally and internationally.

In addition, with our collection and archive, artistic research in the Hertz-Lab, the laboratory for antiquated video systems and the CRT-Lab, we stand for a comprehensive centre of expertise in the electronic arts and time-based media. We are a foundation under public law with the City of Karlsruhe and the State of Baden-Württemberg as founders.
