Martina Kopf

Biography

Dr. Martina Kopf studied general and comparative literature, philosophy, and sociology, and in Mainz and Dijon . She has been teaching and researching general and comparative literature at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz since 2011. Research stays have also taken her to Santiago de Chile, Lima, Valencia, Harvard and most recently to Paris. She completed her doctoral thesis with a comparative study on »Alpinismus — Andinismus. Gebirgslandschaften in europäischer und lateinamerikanischer Literatur« [Alpinism — Andinism: Mountain Landscapes in European and Latin American Literature) (Metzler, 2016). She is coeditor of several volumes, such as on literary relations between Europe and Latin America, on cultural encounters and concepts of place, on the Robinsonade or the 1968 movement in an international and intermedial context. She is currently working on a project dealing with the relationship between creolization and postmigration in Caribbean and European literature.
