In the seven-part work »Zeitknochen – Raummuskel. Vom Wissen des Körpers II« [Time-bone–space-muscle. From the knowledge of the body II], the movement of an outstretched arm is documented photographically. The photographs are arranged on the wall in such a way that together they form an arc that traces the movement – a cinematic process: photographs as film frames. Photography offers the possibility of immediately capturing movements, which the human eye can only perceive successively, and thus a photograph can highlight the anatomical precision of the unconscious process of a movement. For Weibel, who sees the body primarily as a storage medium for information, every movement of our fingers and arms reveals »the capital of evolution« unconscious knowledge that has poured into bones, muscles, and nerves over millions of years and constitutes a non-verbal language.
