At the exhibition from October 20, 2017 to March 25, 2018.

In 2014, the innovative security procedure »Blurry Box®«, jointly developed by the FZI, the KIT and Wibu-Systems AG, brought Karlsruhe a fist-place win in the Horst Görtz Foundation's Fifth German Prize for IT Security.

The »Blurry Box®« works according to Kerkhoffs' principle: it is not the security procedure itself that is kept secret, but rather an exchangeable key. This achieves a higher level of protection against unauthorized duplication, manipulation, industrial espionage and industrial sabotage. This software protection procedure can currently be used securely, and can, simultaneously, be publically discussed and developed further.

In 2017, Wibu-Systems AG challenged hackers from around the world to break through the »Blurry Box®« software protection of a computer game to make it able to work correctly without a license. None of them were able to hack through the software protection.
