24-25.02.2017: University of Jyväskylä
The University of Jyväskylä held a conference entitled East-West Cultural Relations: Interplay of Arts and Cultural Diplomacy 1945-2017, which sought to strengthen the research of cultural exchanges across national borders. It explored and raised awareness of the state of cultural relations and diplomacy between Eastern and Western Europe. The conference aimed to reflect on the East-West cultural connections from the Second World War to today. Its main focus was on artistic movements and exchanges between (and possibly within) the East and West.
31.03.-01.04.2017: Bunkier Sztuki Gallery of Contemporary Art
The conference entitled Exhibition as a Medium of History invited specialists from Europe with objective to analyze historical examples of landmark exhibitions dedicated to the topic of post-war history. Scholars and participants have discussed the ideological frameworks expressed by the selection of artworks and analyzed the curatorial texts of catalogues.
Round Tables
The round tables gather intellectuals and artists from Europe and Russia with the key objectives to explore and raise awareness on the state of play of the cultural relations and cultural diplomacy between Eastern and Western Europe, including Russia on one hand, and on the other hand, to contribute to developing and promoting the notion of shared history and common future. The roundtables will continue the conversation launched by the curators of the historical exhibition and seek to explore Europe as a common cultural entity.

Final Conference
A final conference will gather policy makers, artists and partners involved with the project to reflect on the main themes and topics and present possible conclusions for the future. A manifesto with the issues and conclusions on the cultural relations between Eastern and Western Europe identified during the project will be presented during this conference.
