A new team of Flamenco artists and solo vocalists has been put together in the Compagnie Catarina Mora Flamenca for a stage investigation of the subject of men and all their many facets using the Old Testament story of Cain and Abel as an example. The flamenco gains in depth as the plot unfolds, documenting an expressive power and presence under Stefan Bastians direction. »Machismo« revolves around a theme that has endless consequences in the way it is interpreted: »handling power and impotence«. The consummate skill of the performers gives the director plenty of scope without ever violating the authenticity of the art of flamenco.
