Creating Living Ecosystems Inside Computers
Fri, July 10, 2015 6 pm – 7.30 pm CEST, Lecture
The launch of the collective art project, Biomodd [ZKM7] may be merged with local communities of nature and technologies into hybrid installations, and thereby questions apparent contrasts between nature and technology. The central idea behind Biomodd is the creation of experimental systems in which modified computer networks are integrated and co-exist with living ecosystems.

Biomodd is an ongoing series of temporally limited experiments each of which has been developed together with local participants. As a collaborative project between artists, designers, hackers, gamers, environmental activists and other creative makers from Karlsruhe and the surrounding area, Biomodd [ZKM7] forms part of the art event GLOBALE. The work will be presented at the exhibition »Exo-Evolution«, in October 2015.

The lecture will be held in English.
