Biography
Francisco Ruiz de Infante juggles in his artworks effortlessly with high tech and spontaneous craft, reconstructing the process of memory as it feeds the present – with sporadic bursts of information full of errors, or an endless loop of streaming images. His audiovisual installations have been exhibited at numerous international institutions, including Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid, ES), Guggenheim Bilbao (ES), Musée d’Art Moderne (Paris, FR), SITE Santa Fe (US), Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (NL), ZKM | Karlsruhe (DE). He is currently preparing a complex personal exhibition (»Canopée«) at the Museo del Oro in Bogota (CO), and collaborating on the choreography project »labOfilm« by Olga Mesa. His video works include the feature film »Les Loups« (1995), »Les Choses Simples, Écosystèmes / BlueSky« (2007– 2011). He is the coordinator of the research group »Arts Hors Format« at ESADS in Strasbourg (FR) and codirector of Centre des Rives in the Haute-Marne (FR).
