Event
7th Silent Film Festival
Thu, January 22 – Sun, January 25, 2009
For the seventh year running, the Silent Film Days will take place in Karlsruhe and at the ZKM.
This year’s program not only spans an arch from the first films of Asta Nielsen through to the films of the 1920s, but additionally, offers a concentrated look at the silent film oeuvre of Georg Wilhelm Pabst. Three of the path-breaking director’s most important films will be shown in the ZKM_Media Theater: “Geheimnisse einer Seele, “Die freudlose Gasse,” and “Die Büchse der Pandora.” And for young viewers, the program will include Raoul Walsh’s beautiful film “Der Dieb von Bagdad.”
