A 16mm projector projects light onto the screen, on which the word »possible« appears. The apparatus is set up so that you have to pass between it and the screen. In the process, the fol- lowing occurs: When simply passively viewing, it appears as if the word »possible« is projected onto the screen. However, when you actively pass between the projector and the screen, the word »possible« still remains legible even though you have interrupted the beam and cast a shadow on the screen. The word »possible« is written directly on the screen. What appears to be a projected sign, a representation, is in truth a real object. The real object appeared to be a (projected) illusion, the illusion became real – everything appears to be possible. What is possible is inscribed in what is real. It is part of the real world, of the space of possibility, which is always larger than the space of reality. Exactly this is expressed in the title of this Expanded Cinema installation without film.
