John Bischoff


John Bischoff is known for his solo constructions in real-time synthesis. His performances around the U.S. include two New Music America festivals, Experimental Intermedia in New York, and the Lampo Series in Chicago. He has also performed in Europe at the Festival d'Automne in Paris, Akademie der Künste in Berlin, and Fylkingen in Stockholm. In 1999 Bischoff was awarded an Artist Grant from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts. He taught for many years at Mills College and was on staff at the legendary Center for Contemporary Music. His music is available on Artifact, Lovely Music, Tzadik, and New World Records. (
