Giant Sparrow / Ian Dallas – 2017

17-year-old Edith Finch sets out on a quest to find out what happened to the members of her family, who had emigrated to the USA from Norway.

All had died untimely deaths and Edith is the last surviving family member. In the rooms of her dead relatives she learns about their lives and deaths. Both in terms of content as well as playing mode, these insights into the past differ considerably. The game alternates between a child's perspective, highly imaginative and paranoid worlds. The game does not feature any fights and there are no hectic moments; failure is not an issue. The focus is on exploring the Finch house and grounds and the melancholy and sometimes surreal storyline.

»What Remains of Edith Finch« has won numerous critics' awards. These include the British Film Academy Award (BAFTA) for Best Narrative and the award for Excellence in Narrative from the South by Southwest Festival (SXSW).
