Path Tiles – Knitting – Coordinates into Patterns

Andrulyte created five attractive objects in the product design category, on which personalized coordinates tracked by GPS are knitted. They are intended to make the journeys of individual people more memorable through corresponding patterns on textiles such as scarves, bags as pillows and capes. The result is a conceptual work that creates a close link between people and objects as well as travel and memory.

    Calvin Kudufia

    Award of the BBBank

    1500 Euros

A man in the shape of…

Kudufia combines a poetic practice of collecting in order to condense time and memory with the aim of searching for identity. He collects fantasy coffins, the form of which in Ghana and other African countries can provide clues to the life lived by the deceased, for example a boat for the fisherman, a car for the businessman, etc. The work between fiction and reality is accompanied by a seven-part video installation with music and images, which condenses his own story as a transmedia collage.

    ZWISCHENRÄUME_N

The work deals with the investigation and atmospheric representation of a quasi nameless place as an „in-between“, which is without recognizable functions and boundaries. This space was found in an area between Gartenstrasse and Kriegsstrasse. It must appear dysfunctional to the viewer. Research and analysis resulted in an exhibition in the pavilion with various installations that aim to make the nameless place visible to the viewer.
