The brothers Cuphead and Mugman live on a fictional island. In Devil’s Casino they play but lose their souls to the Devil.

However, the Devil makes them an offer: If they collect the »soul contracts« of other debtors, they can keep their own souls. Cuphead and Mugman encounter numerous enemies during their adventure: from slot machine frogs in a hectic casino to an evil mermaid.

»Cuphead« is reminiscent of the run and gun games of the early 1990s and is stylistically based on American animated films of the 1920/1930s, such as »Steamboat Willi«, »Betty Boop«, or »Popeye the Sailor«. However, »Cuphead« doesn’t just look like a 1930s cartoon: The images were produced almost exclusively using ink and paper.
