Our successful co-operation between ZKM/Institute for Music and Acoustics and the International Ensemble Modern Academy (IEMA), begun last autumn, will continue this spring, 2006, with a program of typically high standards. Over three evenings, compositions with and without Live Electronics will be performed displaying a large spectrum of new contemporary interpretation.
Emphasis lies in the so-called “matrix-composition”, as in Morton Feldman’s “Crippled Symmetry”, Pierre Boulez’s “Derive” or Steve Reich's “New York Counterpoint”.

In the final concert US American vocalist, Tom Buckner, member of the Alvin Lucier Ensemble, gives an taster of what’s to come in summer this year in the already planned festival “Voice+” with two world premieres by composer and percussionist Matthias Kaul.
