Open House 2008
Sun, January 06, 2008 11 am CET, Celebration
As it does every year, on 6 January the ZKM will offer a view of the numerous exhibitions of the two ZKM | Museums. The exhibitions include "Paul Thek. Werkschau im Kontext zeitgenössischer Kunst" and "YOU_ser: Das Jahrhundert des Konsumenten/The Century of the Consumer". The ZKM | Institutes will also present examples of their works and research projects. For example, the ZKM | Institute for Visual Media will show in the context of the PanoramaFestival, the work "THERE IS STILL TIME . . BROTHER" by the artists of The Wooster Group. The ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics will honor the great composer Pierre Henry with a sound space installation. In addition to the guided tours and well-known museum rally, tasty treats at the ZetKaeM-Bar will provide a culinary balance to the day. The exhibition "ON," in conjunction with the ten-year anniversary of ZKM in Hallenbau, will have its final showing in the ZKM_Media Lounge.

As in past years, the finale to the visitor day will be a panel discussion. Discussed this year will be the current special exhibition "YOU_ser: Das Jahrhundert des Konsumenten/ The Century of theConsumer."

"Dann sah ich einen neuen Himmel und eine neue Erde ..." (Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth)

A cooperation of the ZKM | Karlsruhe and the Roncalli-Forum. The change in the Internet in conjunction with the term Web 2.0 is well-known: receivers become producers.
