The big band FESSH (FESSH = Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand) was founded at the European Congress for Hand Surgery in Bologna in 1996. Since then, they have played swing and rock at a number of congresses throughout Europe. Today the band comprises doctors from the Marien Hospital in Stuttgart and well-known musicians from Stuttgart’s jazz and rock scene. At this concert, FESSH will play as a benefit for the “Hospiz Arista.” The stationary hospice provides a home for the final stages of life of those with life-threatening and terminal illness from the region and city of Karlsruhe.
