Kaepsele Connection
Creativity in the Classroom at the ZKM
Thu, June 28, 2012 3 pm CEST, Lecture
The ZKM | Museum Communication presents the final event of the research project ”Kaepsele Connection. Creativity in the Classroom” which shows the results of the project and provides possibilities for future applications in school education.

Based on the recommendations for action issued by the Ministry for the Promotion of Creativity and Innovation in Baden-Württemberg, in 2007, in cooperation with an interdisciplinary teaching group, the ZKM | Museum Communication has been developing over the last one and a half years the theoretical and practical preconditions for facilitating creative work within the classroom.
What we understand by creativity is problem-solving thinking and action, which can be applied to all school subjects. In the form of discussions, workshops and lectures, scientists creativity research, the fine arts and mathematics and didactics have given impulses to the research group, which teachers then later transferred to their lessons.
The project was qualitatively evaluated by Claudio Thunsdorff from the Center of Methodology at the University of Koblenz-Landau.
Alongside the teaching group, work was carried out with school groups in the ZKM Workshop Series “Strategy_Change” on alternative solutions to self-selected problems, so as to sharpen perception and to take in new perspectives.

The experiences and results of the teaching group as well as the workshop series with the school group and the evaluation report by Claudio Thunsdorff will be presented at this event. The event is directed especially at teachers and educators. Interested visitors are likewise cordially invited to participate in the event.
