Move on Asia (opening)
Video Art in Asia 2002 to 2012
Fri, February 08, 2013 7 pm CET, Opening
On the evening of February 08, the ZKM | Karlsruhe is scheduled to open two exhibitions dedicated to the increasing contemporary global significance of art from Asia.

Around fifty years after the emergence of video art, the exhibition “Move on Asia. Video Art in Asia 2002 to 2012” offers insights into the most recent developments of this medium within Asia. The show also exhibits the interactive installation “Global Fire” by Chinese-born artist and resident of Paris, Du Zhenjun, while also presenting his most recent work in the solo-exhibition “Du Zhenjun. Babel World”. Du Zhenjun is considered an outstanding artist: in his series of large-format digitally processed photographs he shows, by way of Babylonian architecture, the world as impacted by turbo capitalism and globalization.

One speciality of the exhibition openings will be the performance of the Japanese composer, performer and sound poet Tomomi Adachi:

Voice Sound Poetry Form Begun with -X-
