Sun, January 29, 2017 6 pm CET, Finissage

The audiovisual performance »Synesthetic Symphony«, that was created for the »Crystal.Reconstruction« project, will be performed with the light-musical instrument »Crystal« on the second evening of the exhibition closing by ::vtol::, Peter Kirn, Yulia Glukhova and Sila Sveta – curated by Natalia Fuchs.

The central object of the performance, the reconstructed light-musical instrument »Crystal«, was developed by Bulat Galeyev at the Prometheus Institute at Kazan in 1964 and reconstructed in 2015 by ::vtol:: and Sila Sveta studio at the Polytechnic Museum, Moscow. »Crystal« was premiered in Moscow at the VDNKh in 1966 and was afterwards almost completely lost – until the object was reconstructed by the Prometheus Institute, Kazan and the Polytechnic Museum, Moscow, in 2015, to be part of the exhibition »On the Origin of the New« at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow.

Natalia Fuchs, curator of the »Kristall.Reconstruction« project at the Polytechnic Museum, Moscow, will introduce into the performance in English.
