POLE
Portrait of Karlheinz Stockhausen
Sat, March 10, 2018 8 pm CET
The international project »POLE« is an homage to Karlheinz Stockhausen and his composition »POLE« (1969-1970) for two players and multi-channel sound diffusion. POLE is a so-called »open score«, music noted with a system invented by Stockhausen, which instead of normal notes, consists of plus and minus signs and allows various instrumentations. Camilla Hoitenga (USA / Germany) and Taavi Kerikmäe (Estonia) have developed a version for flutes with the rare Serge modular synthesizer of the 1970s, which once belonged to the composer (and intermittent copyist of Karlheinz Stockhausen) Michael Manion and is combined with current possibilities of sound stimulation.
