The Cold Trip

A winter journey with the Aleph Guitar Quartet and the soprano Sarah Maria Sun.

The composer Bernhard Lang has translated Schubert's »Winterreise« into a new, contemporary musical language, a new interpretation with a different sound aesthetic. The Aleph Guitar Quartet, which has been dedicated to the further development of modern music for 25 years, can be heard on the CD production and in Karlsruhe. In »The Cold Trip«, which with its sound brings the bitter cold to life, soprano Sarah Maria Sun alternates in seconds between classical and pop styles and extended vocal techniques. She is known for her enormous versatility: her repertoire includes over 900 compositions of the 20th and 21st centuries. There will be pieces by Adriano Bancheri, Georg Friedrich Haas, Jörg Mainka, John Cage and Mauricio Sotelo.
