The exhibition »Edge of Now« contributes to current discussions about contemporary technologies and their use in the works of a young generation of media artists.  

<Three Rooms> is a collaborative project, which was designed by Chronus Art Center (China), Nam June Paik Art Center (South Korea), and ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (Germany), in order to support emerging media artists representing their countries. The exhibition <Edge of Now> is a part of this project and has been presented at Nam June Paik Art Center in the summer of 2018, at Chronus Art Center from November 2018 to January 2019, and at ZKM from June to October 2019. And finally, a smaller version of this exhibition will be presented at gallery damdam, the Cultural Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Berlin.

  • Many people can be seen in the gallery damdam in Berlin. On the right side of the picture, a blurred fir branch appears below which a large red paper blossom can be seen.
  • The cultural space Korea can be seen in Berlin during a performance. On the left side the visitors are standing while on the right side a performer moves between different sound objects.
  • The photo shows the upper body and head of a Korean performer wearing two pink/light green coloured wooden fans as wings.
  • The photo shows a Korean performer bent to the left stretching her arm over her head while a large silver fan is standing in front of her.
  • Many people can be seen standing or lying in front of a large art projection. The room has a wooden floor and is illuminated blue by the projection.
  • The photo shows a glass bell with a Korean woman standing behind it. Her face and upper body reflect distorted in the glass bell.
