From Electric Impulse to Sculpture | Restoration of Couchot's ‚Sémaphora III’

This video, based on Edmond Couchot's 1966 cybernetic object Sémaphora III, illustrates the challenges involved in restoring and conserving electrical and electronic art. At the same time, it highlights the strategies needed to preserve such works long-term. This documentary, created as part of the exhibition The Story That Never Ends (April 5, 2025 - September 20, 2026), provides insight into the work of the restorers and technicians at ZKM | Karlsruhe.
