Best List of Deutsche Schallplattenkritik with Ludger Brümmer

Ludger Brümmer was elected with his WERGO double CD »Spheres Of Resonance« by the jurors in the category »Electronic and Experimental« in the Best List 4/2022.

Every quarter, the »Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik«  awards the best and most interesting new releases a place on the Best List by a panel of 160 jurors.

Inevitably, images arise before the inner eye. The works of Ludger Brümmer lead into sound spaces of hypnotic aura. Brümmer, who created important innovations for sound generation at the Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (ZKM), is one of the most important composers for computer music. All tracks on this double CD were produced with up to 42 channels for playback over a spatial sound environment. With "Spheres of Resonance" Wergo offers a kaleidoscope of examples of Bruemmer's methods of granular synthesis of early music and physical modeling, for example. Fascinatingly perfect and beautiful.
