Christina Ciupke, who is spending two months at the ZKM⎥Institute for Music and Acoustics on a scholarship from the Berlin Senate, has worked as a dancer and choreographer in Berlin since 1989. Her work with its focus on the body and movement is performed at the point where dance meets art; at its heart is the cross-media encounter between dance and other forms of expression.
Ciupke always uses the body to talk about the body. Repetition, reduction and retardation of movement create spaces with a specific temporality of their own for the fleeting moments of a performance.
In this upDate Ciupke presents earlier productions, including solos and duets that have been performed internationally, and talks about the project she is currently involved in at the ZKM.
