The ZKM reopened on March 17

On Wednesday, March 17, the ZKM opened its doors with a spectacular installation. In addition to the new installation »Connected to Life« (2021) by Chiharu Shiota in the ZKM’s foyer, which sets a visual symbol for the pandemic-stricken present, visitors can see the exhibitions »Writing the History of the Future« and »Critical Zones. Observatories for Earthly Politics«. Further, the installation »CRAWLERS« by Alexander Schubert on the Museum Balcony is now accessible for the first time. Although we are open, the ZKM is continuing to offer its extensive online program.

When it was announced the museums in Baden-Württemberg could open provided certain conditions are met, the ZKM opened a large part of its exhibitions to visitors. This comes almost a year after the first shutdown on March 13, 2020.
