The name is Burroughs. Expanded Media (Opening)

The exhibition “the name is BURROUGHS − Expanded Media” (March 24 – August 12, 2012) at the ZKM | Museum of Contemporary Art presents for the first time in Germany the artistic, multimedia-based und varied work of the world-renowned author William S. Burroughs. It examines the manifold connections between literary and experimental-visual production and enhances the view additionally with the presentation of the “Collaborations” that Burroughs created in cooperation with other artists.

The exhibition’s aim is to make the visionary explosive nature of William S. Burrough’s literary work tangible in retrospective and to present him as a pioneer of media art, whose oeuvre includes experiments with audiotape, film and photography, as well as with paintings and collages.
