As part of the »media lounge at six« sound artists Jean-Philippe Renoult and DinahBird will be providing a melodious insight into their work.
Jean-Philippe Renoult is a radio broadcaster, music journalist, author and media artist, who is specialized in popular music of the 20th century. His works are presented as audio dispositifs, with examples such as »Pourtant Tout Simple«, an electroacoustic commissioned piece for GRM (Groupe de Recherches Musicales /INA) and »I could never make that Music Again« as part of the Radiodays events at the Galerie De Appel (Amsterdam).
As a radio artist, DinahBird has been creating musical art, installations and performances for over 10 years: Commissioned pieces include works for BBC Radio (BBC Radio 3’s Between the Ears), DeutschlandradioKultur (»Sobralasolas!«, 2010), Maison de la Radio, for the mobile radio station of S30, Sao Paolo Biennale (A state of Slumber, 2012). Most recently, she exhibited »The Hum« in 2016, an 8-channel sound and light installation created in cooperation with Jean-Philippe Renoult for the »Radio Revolten« Festival in Halle and its »The Metamorphosis of Radio« exhibition, curated by Anna Fritz.
